This is Halloween! This is Halloween!
In this town! We call home! Everyone hail to the pumpkin song! Jajajajajaja
I cannot believe that it is almost
Halloween again! What are you guys going to do? You have to send me pictures of
your costumes! Here, they celebrate Todo Santos. It is kind of like halloween,
but not really. It is November 1. It is really to celebrate their dead. They go
to the cemetery and bring little desserts and place them on the graves. My comp
and I were so excited to find little Halloween candies here. They have little
gummy bats and teeth and eyes. It made my day. We are going to go buy some
today.
What is new with everyone? Is it
getting colder there in Colorado? Here, the weather is crazy. A veces, it rains
and rains and rains. There are rivers in
the streets! And just our luck, when we dont use our rain boots, it rains cats
and dogs. So the next day, we use our rain boots and there is NOTHING. Crazy
Potosi. NO ME IMPORTA! ME VOY!
....Yes, cambios are this Sunday YET
AGAIN. Woah..... I am almost positive that I will be leaving Potosi. And it
makes me so sad. It is like my little hippie town. I am going to miss it more
than you can imagine. It hit me today that I probably will never see half of
these people again after this week. I almost cried.... I cannot believe that I
have been here almost 6 months.... WOAH.
Hm----- I am trying to think what
else happened this week.
- So I am a little frustrated,
because we really don’t have anyone progressing. We have been working really
hard with the less active members in our ward, but a lot of them were out of
town this week. Blehh........ it is frustrating.
- I have a new trend... CARROTS FOR
BREAKFAST.
- My comp and I started an english
class every Thursday. It is fun. Everyone here wants to learn english. We even
had two investigators come this past week!
- So we participated in this
missionary choir yesterday. It was pretty cool. The members loved it. We didn’t
get home until about 10pm because everyone is always late here... Bolivian
time.... and the lights went out at the end.... crazy Potosi....
- I have a talk for you all to read. It is called Your Wonderful Journey Home by
Utchdorf. I love this talk so much. We are working a lot with people who have
serious problems. At times, I really don’t know what to say to them. But I
learned in this talk that if I can bring the pure love of Christ into their
lives, I can help them heal. It is comforting because I really don’t know how
to help half the people here. But if I pray continually to love these people as
Christ loves them, I can help them. - I have another question! I have been
studying for some time now the Light of Christ. And I want to know your
opinions. For you, what is the Light of Christ? And how does it relate to
knowledge? I know you are all smart, so tell me what you think. I want
understand why light is used so many times to represent Christ.
- One day, we had to eat two COMPLETE
lunches in a row.... I don’t know how I did it, but I do believe that Heavenly
Father blessed my stomach to be bigger.
Yup..... I dont really have anything
else to report. Next Monday we will all know where I will be for the next 6
weeks! I hope that I stay here again, but if I have to leave, I hope that I go
to Sucre or Tupiza. I really don’t want to go to Cocha yet......
What is new with you????? What are
you going to do for Halloween?
I LOVE YOU ALL
